An analysis of all 69,884 home improvement contractor licenses published by the NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection, as of August 18, 2026.
DCWP republishes its full licensee file daily. We loaded every home improvement contractor record and compared the expiration date on each against today's date. 26,455 licenses, 37.9% of the trade, have already lapsed.
