What we collect from you
No account, no sign-up, no newsletter. We do not ask you for your name, email address, phone number or postal address anywhere on this site, and there is no form here that collects them. We do not sell, rent or share visitor data, because we do not have any to sell.
Searches you run are executed in your own browser. The license index is downloaded to your device and matched locally, so what you type into the search box is never transmitted to us.
Cookies and advertising
This site is supported by advertising. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices or networkadvertising.org.
- Third-party ad networks may also collect data through their own cookies. Their practices are governed by their own privacy policies, not this one.
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes standard server request logs including IP address for security and abuse prevention.
Personal information in the license records
This is the part that matters most, so it is stated plainly.
The license records on this site are public records. State licensing boards publish them, by law, specifically so that consumers can verify a license before hiring. We reproduce what those boards publish. We do not add to it, we do not buy supplementary data about licensees, and we do not attempt to enrich these records with anything the state did not publish.
We show only what the state file contains: name, business name, license number, license type, expiration date and county. The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation redacts street addresses and phone numbers in its public file, and we do not have them.
If you are a licensee and want your record changed
If the information here is wrong, it is almost certainly wrong in the state's own file, and the state is the only party that can correct the underlying record. Contact the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation directly. Once their published file changes, this site follows within a day, automatically.
If you believe your listing here causes you specific harm beyond its presence in the public register, or you have a legal basis for removal such as a court order or a documented safety concern, write to us at the address below and explain the circumstances. We read every request. We will not remove a record simply because a licensee dislikes that their expiration date is visible, because that would defeat the entire purpose of a public licensing register.
Children
This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
