About TradeCheck

TradeCheck is a free lookup tool for state contractor license records. We take the files state licensing boards already publish and make them searchable, current, and readable on a phone.

What we are

A mirror of public record with the status maths done for you. State boards publish a license expiration date; they do not publish a plain answer to "is this license valid today". We compute that against the current date on every record, every day.

What we are not

We are not a lead generation service. We do not sell your contact details, we do not charge contractors for placement, and no contractor can pay to change what this site says about their license. We are not affiliated with any state agency. We do not review, rate, or recommend contractors, and the presence of a license here is not an endorsement.

Corrections

If a record here is wrong, it is almost certainly wrong in the state file too, and the state is the only party who can correct it. Contact the issuing board directly. Once they update their file, this site follows within a day.
